Casas del Nogal
Casas del Nogal is an ambitious project to rehabilitate a run down building on Calle Larga in Cuenca old town and include modern constructions on the land that leads down to the River Tomebamba, part of the famous Barranco.
With twenty-four apartments and one trade premises on Calle Larga, the project is made up of a series of constructions interconnected by patios, terraces and paths which fill the project with natural light. The designers managed to maintain the original trees found on the property, including a walnut tree (nogal) which gave the project its name.
The apartments range from one to three-bedroom apartments and make the most of incredible views of Cuenca and the patios located throughout the project. The walls have been built using large round river rocks and handmade bricks.
Casas del Nogal is a project designed by Carlos Espinoza from Surreal Estudio for property developer ISAM. It is their largest project to date and will be completed in February 2015.
